Carrie Parry – Mentorship Program 2012-2014
Alvanon introduced it’s first Mentorship Program in 2012 awarding Carrie Freiman Parry, the Founder and CEO of CARRIE PARRY, an ethically and locally produced clothing line which believes in sourcing environmentally conscious materials and textiles in addition to supporting artisanal communities worldwide. Carrie is a Central Saint Martins Fashion Design and Marketing graduate who‘s design experience includes work for Jonathan Saunders, Zandra Rhodes, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Norma Kamali and Elaine Gold as well as costume for the Oscar winning film Memoirs of a Geisha and two seasons with the highly acclaimed English vintage traveling circus, Gifford’s Circus.
With the 2-year long Mentorship Program, Carrie received two full AlvaForms, 5 hours per month of technical help led by Executive Director of AlvaInsight Consulting, Don Howard including demographics, sizing, grading, technical packs, production process, business model, and how to market both online and at retail levels. With the goal of producing a line each season for the span of 2 years, Alvanon held fit trials with over 100 fit models. With Alvanon’s help, Carrie became more profitable switching her business model to ECommerce, reducing the number of fittings, and increasing her speed to market.
“I have been able to cut down tremendously on the amount of fittings I do as well as the reliance of fit models thanks to alvablocks and the alvaform. I used to fit 3-4 times and now fit 1-2 times till approval.” Carrie Freiman, CEO and Founder of CARRIE PARRY.
