ALVANON TO SUPPORT NEW UK SUSTAINABILITY SYMPOSIUM
Leading global fashion technology company Alvanon, has announced its support for a new London symposium dedicated to bringing revolutionary new sustainability technologies and practices to the fashion industry. Organised by The Mills Fabrica, a Hong Kong-based technology and style company, ‘Techstyle Futures: Innovations for Global Change (UK Edition)’ will be held on Wednesday 19th June 2019 at Cottam House, 36-40 York Way, Regent Quarter, Kings Cross, London, N1 9AB from 08:30 to 15:00. As an innovations speaker Jackie Lewis, senior consultant Alvanon and chief content curator of MOTIF, the apparel knowledge hub, will present on ‘Skills for sustainable business’. She will show how sustainability imperatives and the rapidly changing technology dynamics of the global fashion industry are driving a step change in skills development. Jackie will reveal the latest and most effective ways for companies to upskill and equip fashion professionals, teams and suppliers with the skills and technologies they need to succeed while sustaining the planet.
It is the first time The Mills Fabrica has hosted a symposium event in the UK and it follows the success of its recent launch event in Hong Kong. The symposium will also feature advice, insights and innovations from global fashion industry pioneers including Design Council, WGSN, Kering, H&M Foundation, The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA) and Crystal Group. In addition Reflaunt, Unspun, Algalife and Resortecs will share their revolutionary techstyle innovations that are creating a more sustainable fashion industry for the planet.
